In response to the outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China, Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) convened a meeting of related experts to discuss relevant response measures regarding entry of travelers. Pursuant to the resolutions made in the meeting, different parts of China can be categorized into two levels based on the severity of 2019-nCoV outbreak: Level 1 Area and Level 2 Area. Level 1 Area indicates areas with significant community transmission which is hard to control, and Hubei province has been listed as Level 1 Area; Level 2 indicates areas with suspected community transmission, and individuals with a history of travel to such areas should be required to be under home quarantine. Guangdong province will be listed as Level 2 Area starting from February 2, 2020. Chinese people residing in Guangdong will be prohibited from entering Taiwan. Furthermore, such residents entering Taiwan via cross-strait airports/ports will be under home quarantine for 14 days starting from February 2.
